Launched in spring 2020, Fenjan was the University of Pennsylvania’s first academic and cultural magazine dedicated to the Middle East and North Africa. Co-founded by Laila Shadid, the journal ran for three years and aimed to amplify perspectives from the region often overlooked in mainstream Western media.
